1. Our Commitment
At Nagaland Me Experts, we believe Buyers should only pay for work they actually receive and approve. That’s why we use an escrow system — your payment is held safely until the Expert delivers and you confirm you’re satisfied.
This Refund Policy explains exactly when refunds are available, how to request one, and how disputes are resolved.
2. The Escrow Protection
When you place an Order on Nagaland Me Experts, your payment is not sent directly to the Expert. It is held in escrow by Razorpay (an RBI-licensed payment aggregator) until one of three things happens:
- You approve the work as complete
- 5 days pass after delivery without your response (auto-release)
- A dispute is resolved
This means that if something goes wrong, your money has not yet been paid out and we can issue a refund directly from the held funds.
3. When You Can Get a Full Refund
You are entitled to a full refund in any of the following situations:
- Expert fails to deliver: The Expert does not deliver the work by the agreed deadline and does not respond to your messages
- Expert cancels the Order: The Expert cancels the Order before delivering anything
- Expert delivers nothing: The “delivery” contains no actual work, junk files, or is clearly fake
- Expert violates Terms: The Expert is found to have violated our Terms of Service
- Major scope mismatch: The delivered work is completely different from what was described in the Service listing
- Order auto-cancelled: An Order is cancelled by our system due to Expert account suspension or platform issues
4. When You Can Get a Partial Refund
A partial refund may be issued in cases where:
- The delivered work is partially complete but not finished
- Some elements of the agreed scope are missing but others were delivered
- Both parties agree to a reduced settlement to close the Order
- Our admin team determines partial responsibility on both sides during a dispute
The exact amount of a partial refund is determined by our admin team based on the specific circumstances.
5. When Refunds Are NOT Available
Refunds are not available in the following cases:
- You changed your mind after the Expert started working
- You approved the work and now have second thoughts
- 5 days passed after delivery without you opening a dispute (auto-release)
- The Expert delivered as described but you wanted something different
- You did not provide required information needed for the Expert to do the work
- Force majeure events (natural disasters, internet outages, government actions) caused delays
- You attempted off-platform contact in violation of Terms of Service
6. The Refund Process
To request a refund, follow these steps:
- Try to resolve with the Expert first. Use the Order chat to explain the issue. Many issues can be resolved with a revision request.
- If unresolved, open a dispute. Click “Open Dispute” on the Order page (or contact us via WhatsApp at +91 63833 59495).
- Submit evidence. You’ll have 48 hours to upload screenshots, files, chat logs, and explanations supporting your claim.
- Wait for review. Our admin team reviews the case within 3–5 business days.
- Receive the decision. We will notify both parties of the decision via email and WhatsApp.
- Refund processing. If approved, refunds are processed within 7 business days.
7. Refund Timelines
Once a refund is approved, processing times depend on your original payment method:
- UPI (PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm): 1–3 business days
- Credit / Debit Cards: 5–7 business days
- Net Banking: 3–5 business days
- Wallets: 1–3 business days
Refunds are always processed back to the original payment method. We cannot refund to a different account.
8. Revision vs. Refund
Most Services include at least one free revision. If the delivered work isn’t quite right, we encourage you to request a revision first rather than open a dispute. This is usually the fastest way to get the work you want.
You should only open a dispute if:
- The Expert refuses to revise
- The Expert is unresponsive
- The work is fundamentally different from what was described
- The Expert has missed the deadline
9. Auto-Release Rule
If you do not respond within 5 days of the Expert marking the Order as delivered, the system will automatically:
- Mark the Order as completed
- Release the held funds to the Expert
- Close the Order
After auto-release, refunds are no longer possible. Always check your Order status regularly. We send email and WhatsApp reminders before auto-release happens.
10. Disputed Refunds
If you disagree with our refund decision, you may:
- Reply to the decision email with new evidence
- Request escalation to a senior admin
- Contact us directly at info@nagaland.me
Final decisions are at the sole discretion of Nagaland Me.
11. Chargebacks
Filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer without first attempting to resolve the issue through our dispute process is a violation of our Terms of Service. Such accounts may be permanently suspended.
If you believe a chargeback is necessary, please contact us first at info@nagaland.me — in most cases we can resolve the issue faster and more fairly than a bank dispute.
12. Expert Cancellations
Experts may cancel an Order in the following situations:
- Buyer does not provide required information within 48 hours
- Buyer makes inappropriate or abusive demands
- The requested work falls outside the scope of the listed Service
- The Expert is genuinely unable to complete the work due to illness or emergency
In all cancellation cases, the Buyer receives a full refund.
13. Special Circumstances
In rare cases, we may issue refunds outside this policy at our discretion, including:
- Platform errors or technical failures
- Razorpay processing errors
- Cases where strict policy enforcement would be unfair
